#NoToUnemployment Campaign An Initiative of New Century Initiative

New Century Initiative is a youth focused community development organization, based in Enugu state, Nigeria.
We as a non profit development organization, has engaged in a couple of youth sensitization, and empowerment activities, which includes; Community voter education, and campaign against youth involvement in election violence, advocacy on youth inclusion in governance, free training on web development, young women political inclusion, youth in gender equality and empowerment.

New Century Initiative has been in front line advocacy and campaign against the increasing youth unemployment in Nigeria through policy engagement with relevant stakeholders, policy makers and government agencies. We participated in the review of the National Youth Policy in Nigeria, review of Nigerian Youth Employment Action Plan, and meeting by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, under the Presidency, and made huge contributions to finding everlasting and practical solution to the increasing youth unemployment in Nigeria.

We strongly believe that unemployment encourages, poverty, terrorism, crimes, and sociopolitical exclusion of young people. We launched #NoToUnemployment, which is focused on engaging the government, to create enabling environment for industry growth and development, in order to unveil opportunities for sustainable jobs for the youth who makes up to 70% of Nigeria's population.

According to Nebo Obinna Collins, the team leader of New Century Initiative, "unemployment creates poverty, poverty creates social class, and social class encourages youth exclusion."
